McCarton Foundation’s 12th Annual Celebration Of Learning Gala At Capitale In NYC

According to statistics, 1 in 88 children in the United States is diagnosed with an autistic related disease. Many of these children face continuous stigmas and obstacles in their lives that prevent them from performing at their full potential. This is why, in 2002, Cecilia McCarton M.D., a globally renowned developmental disabilities researcher set up the McCarton Foundation. She sought to use her foundation to reach out autistic children who lack proper treatment and education by initiating three major programs. The first, the McCarton School implements an unique program for educating autistic children. The second project, the McCarton Center for Research is partnered with Rutgers University’s Douglass Developmental Disabilities Center. The Center focuses on creating and applying research studies into education for autistic children. McCarton’s final project is the McCarton Training Institute, where practitioners, caregivers and families are provided with training and consultation on how to live and interact with children with autism.
