On Friday night I attended an Italian food festival at the DCR’s Steriti Memorial Rink in the North End of Boston. Proceeds from The Taste of the North End will go to support The North End Waterfront Health. In addition, the event continued the neighborhood’s tradition of restaurants and charities working together.

Haymakers for Hope is a non-profit organization dedicated to raising money and awareness for cancer research through organizing charitable boxing events. Founded in 2009 by Andrew Myerson and Julie Anne Kelly, Haymakers for Hope has helped raise over $220,000 for cancer research through the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and the Jimmy Fund.

Strides Against Stigma is committed to erasing the social stigma surrounding depression disorders. On April 28th, participants will get together for a Walk-A-Thon to take 2 Million Strides and work to raise $50,000 to continue the cause.
