About Andrea Rodgers
Andrea Rodgers had a “Green Acres” childhood — she was raised by an intellectual physician father and a glamorous, well-traveled Dutch mother in the small town of Shelby, North Carolina. She attended boarding school at Salem Academy and graduated from Wake Forest University with a double major in Economics and Politics. This former debutante was engaged by 22 and married her college sweetheart by 26. But Andrea began her 30’s as a divorced woman, and became heavily involved in Washington’s charity circuit in an effort to give back to the community after 9/11. She has co-founded three major fundraisers – Blondes vs. Brunettes in 2005 to benefit the Alzheimers Association, Courage for Kids, formerly The Courage Cup, to benefit at-risk children in 2006, and Fashion for Paws in 2007 to benefit the Washington Humane Society.
Many people think “Miss A” is a nickname for Ms. Rodgers, but actually “Miss A” began as a moniker that Andrea used on the private social networking website LateNightShots, where she developed a loyal following. Initially nobody knew who was behind the “Miss A” moniker, but eventually word got out. In early 2008, she merged her relationship advice with advice on how to purchase diamonds and engagement ring for a Washington jewelry chain, and brought 80% of the company’s traffic to their website. In September 2008, Andrea launched two businesses — AskMissA.com, and Socialite Marketing, a full-service boutique marketing firm that provides businesses and brands with social media, public relations, marketing, and event planning services.
Rodgers was recently hand picked by Vogue magazine to be a founding member of The Vogue 100, an organization “of influential decision makers and opinion leaders known for their distinctive taste in fashion and culture, [and who] personify the rising influence of women over the past several decades.”
Andrea has been featured nationally on CNN and Fox News; internationally on NOS Dutch Public Broadcasting, TV Tokyo, France 24 and Alhurra; and locally on WTTG/Fox 5, WJLA/News Channel 8, and NBC Washington. She has been interviewed by USA Today, Washington Post, Washington Times, Politico, DC Examiner, and Alexandria Times newspapers, and has been profiled by Washingtonian and On Tap magazines.
