Pantene Beautiful Lengths Makes It Easy To Give Back with National Donate Your Hair Day & #8or8 Challenge

Getting a cancer diagnosis can be devastating, and for those women whose cancer treatments lead to hair loss the journey can be even more difficult. Pantene knows that hair represents more than style. It is self-esteem and confidence. That’s why, since 2006, Pantene has inspired hundreds of thousands of men, women and children across the country to grow, cut and donate their hair to help Pantene Beautiful Lengths make real-hair wigs for women undergoing cancer treatments. Since its creation, the program has collected more than 800,000 ponytails and has helped distribute more than 42,000 real-hair wigs through American Cancer Society wig banks across the country.Pantene Beautiful Lengths 8 or 8 challenge 2015

pantene 8or8 challengeSeptember 8th is the kick off for Pantene’s #8or8 Challenge which asks people to give $8 or cut and donate 8 inches of hair to help create free, real-hair wigs for women who have lost their hair due to cancer.  Also happening on September 8th is National Donate Your Hair Day.  National Donate Your Hair Day (NDYHD) is an annual day of giving that encourages people nationwide to cut and donate their hair to Beautiful Lengths.  Consider participating by cutting and donating your hair!

The number eight is significant for Pantene Beautiful Lengths for many reasons – more than 800,000 ponytail donations have been received to-date, it is a minimum donation of an 8 inch ponytail and it takes a minimum of 8 ponytails to create one wig.

The monetary donations benefit The Pantene Beautiful Lengths Fund, which works with the non-profit organization The Greater Cincinnati Foundation, allowing anyone to support the Pantene Beautiful Lengths program. 100% of contributions made to the Pantene Beautiful Lengths Fund go directly to helping create free, real-hair wigs for women battling cancer.

Pantene makes it so simple for people to donate their hair, money, or use their social media platform to raise awareness for this important mission. There are a number of easy ways to get involved and donate to Pantene Beautiful Lengths:
