1 in 8 U.S. Women will develop invasive breast cancer over the course of her lifetime. 2,350 new cases of invasive breast cancer are expected to be diagnosed in men in 2015. With Breast Cancer Awareness month only a few months away, it’s time to schedule those doctor’s appointments, wear your pink ribbon, and support charity events like Live4Gen Charity Basketball Game & After Party.

She was the girl with the smile. The one who feared very little, and laughed often while lighting up the lives of her friends, family, and those who came in contact with her. At just 26 years old, Genevieve Costello was diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer, which ultimately took her life. Although she’s gone, her story will continue to be told by those who knew her, and through events like the Live4Gen Charity Basketball Game

The charity Basketball game will have a combination of local San Diego Basketball Alumni as well as celebrities and professional athletes. Following the basketball game will be a Pink Carpet After Party. The Live4Gen event will celibate the life of Genevieve Costello while also honoring cancer survivor Dapanie Kennedy. All of the proceeds from these events will go directly to supporting the Live4Gen Mission to raise breast cancer awareness while also increasing prevention. Genevieve’s story didn’t end with her passing, events such as these keeps her, as well as those like her, stories alive.
