Lesley has been actively involved in various charities such as the Animal Resource Foundation, Komen For the Cure, Prevent Cancer Foundation, American Diabetes Association and the Race for Hope (benefitting the National Brain Tumor Society and Accelerate Brain Cancer Cure).

7th Annual Flower Festival At Pike Place Market

This weekend, May 9-10, 2015, Pike Place Market will host the 7th annual Flower Festival to help celebrate Mother’s Day. More than 40 locally-based farmers will offer an abundance of fresh, locally grown flowers and colorful spring arrangements perfect for honoring mothers on Mother’s Day.  Children will have the opportunity to create handmade Mother’s Day cards at a tent on-site.

There will also be a chance to support the Pike Place Market Foundation.  Their tent will be offering a unique gift option, a Market Charm engraved with mom’s name.  Proceeds support the MarketFront expansion and will help provide opportunities for local shops, farmers, and artists, as well as housing and services for seniors and low-income neighbors.

The Pike Place Market Preservation & Development Authority (PDA) is a not-for-profit, public corporation chartered by the City of Seattle in 1973 to manage the properties in the nine-acre Market Historic District. The PDA is required to preserve, rehabilitate and protect the Market’s buildings, increase opportunities for farm and food retailing in the Market, incubate and support small and marginal businesses, and provide services and affordable housing for low-income people.
