The County of Los Angeles has a charitable foundation looking out for the needs of its low-income families with babies. Baby2Baby secures donations of baby care products as well as monetary donations working with dozens of local partners – homeless shelters, domestic violence shelters, children’s hospitals, Head Start programs and others. These partners specifically include such names as Topanga Women’s Circle, Pediatric Therapy Network, Girls & Gangs, Angel Interfaith Network and many more.
Presidents Kelly Patricof and Norah Weinstein prove the strength in numbers as they gather support from a number of sources – the Baby2Baby founders, donors, volunteers, a board of directors and the Baby2Baby Angels. The organization hosts twice weekly volunteer events in Wilshire offering music and complimentary coffee to create a fun environment for helping others. Volunteers may help to sort and deliver goods or even host baby showers or baby products drives to help the cause.
The annual Baby2Baby gala is another source of support and awareness for the organization. It’s attended by numerous celebrities and sponsored by numerous business organizations. In fact, many of the celebrities seen in attendance are actually directly involved with the charity. Jessica Alba and Nicole Richie are among the charity’s board members and the Baby2Baby Angels include Drew Barrymore, Selma Blair, Molly Sims, Rachel Zoe, Michelle Monaghan and several other famous figures.
Appropriate local product donations include baby food, diapers, nursing bras, breast pumps, stuffed animals and other new items in addition to gently used donations such as cribs, strollers, high chairs, crib monitors and clothing. Please click here to learn more about getting involved!
