For a second year, the Jimmy Kimmel Live! show filmed in Austin during SXSW. The week of taping featured many stars including: Willie Nelson, “The Walking Dead” cast, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Tony Romo, Kevin Hart, Brad Paisley, James Bay, Spoon and Robert Rodriguez. The show broadcasted from The Long Center, “Austin’s only live entertainment venue to embrace and emphasize local talent and art, with more than 80 percent of the performances coming from local artists.”
One really cool thing about the taping was that it was not just about putting on a good show. The Jimmy Kimmel Live! team teamed up again this year with eBay Giving Works to raise money for charity. eBay Giving Works will auction off guitars that are signed by guests appearing on the show from this week. One hundred percent of the proceeds will benefit the local non-profit, Urban Roots, which is a cause close to Jimmy’s heart.
Urban Roots is a non-profit organization that uses food and farming to transform the lives of the youth, while inspiring, engaging and nourishing the community. To date, eBay Giving Works has raised more than $500 million for non-profits around the world.
The auction will be live from now until Monday, March 30, 2015. Items include seven different guitars signed by stars from his week in Austin. One guitar is signed by Kevin Hart, Brad Paisley, Aaron Rodgers. Interested in purchasing an item from the auction? Fans can bid on the items simply by visiting the sites page.
