On March 14, 2015, civic & business leaders, and medical professionals will join the American Heart Association for a fun and elegant evening at the Denver Heart Ball. As one of the most elegant event, this event is surely not to be missed.
Chaired by Randy and Dara Owen, CFO/COO of Envision Healthcare, the event raises important funds to support heart disease and stroke research and educational programs in the Denver community.
Since 1918, cardiovascular disease has been the No. 1 killer in the United States. This disease makes up more than half of all cardiovascular events in men and women under the age of 75, and an average of 15 years of life is lost due to a heart attack.
Each year, 600,000 people in this country experience a stroke for the first time, and 180,000 people experience a recurrent stroke. This means that every 40 seconds someone in the U.S. has a stroke, and sadly, every three to four minutes someone loses their life to the disease. With numbers as staggering as this, it is important to bring the Denver community together, to fight back now.
This year, the event has a special focus on the important of learning the life-saving skill of CPR, and features local cardiac arrest survivor Brittan Sutphin. Emceed by Dayle Cedars of 7News, and Rick Crandall of KEZW Studio 1430AM, the Heart Ball will be held at the Hyatt Regency Convention Center in Downtown Denver.
The event begins at 5:30pm with a VIP reception, followed by a silent and live auction, dinner, a special presentation, and dancing.
