Known to locals as The Youth Fair, The Miami-Dade County Fair & Exposition will be celebrating its 64th year from March 12 to April 5. The Youth Fair is the largest fair in Florida, with over 589,800 guests attending in 2014. The fair offers plenty of activities on its 86-acre complex, including over 90 rides, two Kiddielands, livestock and agricultural competitions, live concerts, a European style circus and amazing carnival food. This year’s fair is sponsored by KIA Motors of North America and Sedano’s Supermarket and Coca-Cola.
The Miami-Dade County Fair & Exposition, Inc. is a non-profit organization dedicated to enriching the community through education. In partnership with Miami-Dade County Public Schools, the Youth Fair showcases the artistic, academic and athletic talents of school-aged children through competition and exhibitions. In 2014, the Youth Fair provided over $300,000 in academic scholarships, cash premiums, plaques and awards. Throughout the year, The Youth Fair supports achievement programs such as Miami-Dade County 4-H, Youth Fair Scholarship Program, Walter B. Arnold Jr Youth Hall of Fame Community Service Awards and Youth Fair Middle School & High School Athletic events. With all of the programs and support the fair provides, it is no wonder that The Miami-Dade County Fair & Exposition is known as the Youth Fair. Join in the fun during the twenty-one day exposition.
