Red Cross month is here. The Red Cross was started by Clara Barton and a group of her acquaintances in May of 1881. The humanitarian organization is known for “preventing and relieving suffering, here at home, and around the world.” The Red Cross specializes in five different areas including: disaster relief, supporting America’s military families, lifesaving blood, health and safety services, and international services. The organization has provided care and assistance for many years around the world. This month the Breckenridge-Wynkoop restaurants have decided to celebrate the Red Cross by showing support at participating locations.
On Sunday, March 1, 2015, the Breckenridge-Wynkoop donated 25% of all food and beverage purchases to the American Red Cross in support of the Red Cross Colorado Disaster Relief. Eight Restaurants participated, including: Ale House at Amato’s, Breckenridge Colorado Craft, Cherry Cricket, Session Kitchen, Wynkoop Brewing Company, Breckenridge Brewery, Mainline Ale House, and Phantom Canyon Brewing Company.
Staring on Monday, March 2, 2015 and lasting through Tuesday, March 31, 2015, many of the Breckenridge-Wynkoop restaurants will adopt a new dessert item in support of the Red Cross. Red Velvet cupcakes with cream cheese icing and chocolate sauce will be available for purchase with the special offer of 2 cupcakes for $5. $1 of every Red Velvet dessert purchase will be donated to the Red Cross in support of the Red Cross Colorado Disaster Relief.
