“The March Against Hunger is a fun and easy way to get out and walk or run to make a difference in the lives of many South Floridians struggling to put food on the table,” said Paco Vélez, CEO and President of Feeding South Florida.
All registrants will receive a t-shirt and certificate of participation. Awards will go to the top three finishers in each age group and the top three overall finishers.
Proceeds will support Feeding South Florida’s work to provide immediate assistance to the 871,920 residents of Palm Beach, Broward, Miami-Dade and Monroe Counties who are food insecure. The registration fee of $30 will be used to provide 150 meals.
Feeding South Florida is one of 202 food banks in the Feeding America network and is the 35th in the nation for pounds of food distributed. It is the largest food bank in the Florida and serves 30 percent of Florida’s food insecure population.
