Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat at The Tennessee Performing Arts Center

Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat will be lighting up the Tennessee Performing Arts Center’s Photo Credit: http://www.josephthemusical.com/Andrew Jackson Hall Tuesday, February 17 through Sunday, February 22, 2015.
Composed by Andrew Lloyd Webber, with Lyrics by Tim Rice, the musical retells the Biblical story of Joseph, from the the Book of Genesis, and his “coat of many colors.”
In 1967 Webber was asked by St Paul’s Junior School to create a “pop cantata” for the school choir to sing at their end of the year Easter concert.  Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat was first preformed March 1, 1968 at Colet Court.  The musical reached West End in 1973 and made its way to Broadway by 1982.  A  film version, starring Donny Osmond as Joseph and Maria Friedman as the Narrator, was released in 1999.
The new touring production is directed and choreographed by Tony Award-winner Andy Blankenbuehler. Broadway and television actor Diana DeGarmo stars in the role of The Narrator, and Broadway actor, Ace Young stars as Joseph.  Fun fact: These two highly accomplished performers are also newlyweds.
Full of fantastic and enduring music, and a timeless story, this is theater fun for the entire family.  Purchase your tickets for the musical theater classic here.
