World AIDS Day is an opportunity for people worldwide to unite in the fight against HIV, show their support for people living with HIV and to commemorate people who have died.
Recently, she was appointed UNAIDS Global Goodwill Ambassador, and has already visited Sowteo in South Africa to raise awareness about the transmission of the disease to babies in Africa.
World AIDS Day was the first ever global health day and the first one was held in 1988.
As newly appointed Global Goodwill Ambassador, she raises awareness in support of the UNAIDS-led Global Plan towards the elimination of new HIV infections among children by 2015, and keeping their mothers alive, and speaks out for young women and girls affected by the epidemic.
Victoria has also been a member of the Elton John AIDS Foundation for over a decade, as well as an advocate for humanitarian issues.
All of the proceeds from the T-shirts, priced at $140.00, will go toward the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS to support their efforts in ending the AIDS epidemic by 2030. Anyone who purchases the t-shirt will also receive a small red World AIDS Day ribbon pin.
“My personal commitment to raise awareness and resources to end the AIDS epidemic is one that is shared by my brand and we wanted to mark World AIDS Day with an initiative that my customers could also participate in,” Victoria said of the t-shirt design.
