Lisa Beth Miller is the Entertaining & Weddings Editor for Miss A. She has been involved in the wedding industry for several years. Lisa is a bridal consultant and director of marketing and public relations for Blush Bridal Boutique and an event designer at Main Street Weddings, both local wedding businesses. In this capacity, Lisa writes the blog, website copy, and promotional materials for these businesses and assists with event planning. She was formerly a bridal consultant and did marketing and public relations work for A Formal Affair Bridal and Formalwear Boutique and was the creator of their Bridal University workshops. Additionally, Lisa teaches English, journalism, and photojournalism classes at Liberty High School in Bealeton, Virginia. She advises the school's award-winning publications, Talon yearbook and Patriot Press newspaper. As junior class sponsor, she also assists in planning Liberty's prom. Lisa has written several published articles. These include an article about advising student publications for Accents (Southern Interscholastic Press Association’s journal),an article about the royal wedding for Northern Virginia Magazine, an article about local proms for Warrenton Lifestyle magazine, and four stories about wedding planning and wedding fashion for the 2012 Northern Virginia Bridal Guide. Lisa holds an undergraduate degree in English and journalism education from Millersville University of Pennsylvania and a graduate degree in education and library science from Longwood University.

New York & Company Partners With St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital On Thanks And Giving Campaign

New York & Company announced  that it will once again partner with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital for the St. Jude Thanks and Giving campaign, an unprecedented union of celebrities, media, retail and corporate brands, that asks consumers to donate while they shop during the holiday season to support the lifesaving research and treatment at St. Jude.

This is the seventh year New York & Company has participated in the campaign, which began as a holiday-focused fundraising effort and has grown into an annual tradition that has raised more than $487 million over the past ten years to help St. Jude provide cutting-edge treatment and pursue visionary research. These funds are critical given that no family ever receives a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food because, according to the philosophy at St. Jude, all a family should worry about is helping their child live.

Beginning this month and running through January 3, 2015, customers who shop with New York & Company may donate any amount in any of our stores or online to St. Jude.  In addition, for the first time ever, New York & Company will be selling merchandise that will benefit St. Jude.  50% of the purchase price of a special edition necklace, bracelet & key chain will be donated to the research hospital. New York & Company is also a National Platinum Sponsor of the St. Jude Give thanks. Walk.™  for the fifth consecutive year. On Saturday, November 22, thousands of St. Jude supporters across the country  participated in this exciting, family friendly walk to raise money for the children of St. Jude.  New York & Company had associates at over 60 of the walks. Additionally, New York & Company  hosted a sample sale in its corporate offices with all proceeds donated to St. Jude.
