Aujha L. Alexander means sunshine, and she plans to shine bright with her present and future endeavors. Aujha was born and raised in Denver, Colorado. She graduated, a proud Angel from Denver East High School in 2010. She is currently studying for her Bachelor of Arts in Television Production with a minor in psychology at Howard University in Washington, D.C. She has also received her Associate of Arts from the Auraria campus located in Downtown Denver. Her love for writing began early on, and it has stuck with her over the years. She has worked with a variety of publications such as Denver 303 Magazine and HipHopRollCall.com. She also has experience in television and radio, having worked with Jazz 89.5 KUVO, Howard University's WHBC 96.3, and PBS' WHUT. When not in school or working, Aujha can be found wherever great music and tasty food are present. In her free time she enjoys reading, writing poetry, dancing, and exercising.

Larimer Square’s Winter Fashion Show To Benefit Dress For Success Denver

Colorado’s adaptation of one of fashion’s favorite times of the year takes place this week. Denver Fashion Week is here. The schedule is stacked with a variety of amazing events. Among these events is the Annual Winter Fashion Show. The fashion show will be hosted by Larimer Square at Edge Restaurant at the Four Seasons on November 20. The show is free and open to the public. Larimer Square will offer specialty cocktails available for purchase, 20 percent of the proceeds will be donated to Dress for Success.

Dress for Success is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting economic independence of disadvantaged women. The organization provides professional attire, support, and career development tools to women. The nonprofit was created in 1997, and has assisted over 750 thousand women since its formation. Dress for Success efforts are international serving; the United States, Australia, Canada, United Kingdom, New Zealand, Netherlands, Mexico, Poland, Portugal, Ireland, France, Luxembourg, and the West Indies.

Dress for Success has also implemented the Professional Women’s Group. The program offers continuous support to women transitioning into and establishing themselves in the mainstream workplace. There is also a Career Center program that “promotes confidence and professionalism” through career guidance, assistance with technological skills, and job search assistance.

e latest and winter fashion trends from local boutiques.
