Old Town Annual Tree Lighting And Holiday Charity Drive Kick-Off In Chicago

On Tuesday, December 4, 2014, visit Historic Old Town to kick off the holiday season with the annual tree lighting and holiday charity drive. Enjoy complimentary hot chocolate, cookies and roast chestnuts while exploring  the neighborhood and get on specials and sales from local businesses while shopping for gifts and decorations to deck the halls for the season.

The tree lighting will begin at 5:30 p.m. at Burton Place Park. At 6:30 p.m., take the kiddies to visit Santa. He’ll be there for an hour taking pictures and listening to wish lists.

Take the opportunity to give back and support the charity drive, which will support local organizations like Deborah’s Place, Chicago House, and Mercy Home for Boy’s & Girls. Between December 2nd and 19th, locals can drop off a variety of items in support of these organizations. Non-perishable food items, household and toiletry supplies, and, new or gently worn winter clothing items will be accepted.
