Rebecca Richards is an estate planning and taxation attorney from New York. This “recovering attorney” is enjoying all that Miami has to offer – whether it be attending one of the many Miami festivals, touring historic Villa Vizcaya, or sunning on South Beach. Previously, Becky published scholarly articles on estate planning and taxation, and is now is exploring her creativity to write feature articles on a wide variety of topics. While living on Long Island, she was involved in several community service projects and hopes to continue this work in Miami by spreading the word to others through writing. Becky also enjoys music, all things outdoors, meeting new people, and reading. She received her bachelor’s degree in journalism from Western Connecticut State University and her law degree from Hofstra University School of Law. Bid on artwork by more than 100 of Miami’s top street and contemporary artists at the Wynwood Art Auction to benefit Ronald McDonald House Charities of South Florida. The event is hosted by Grand Central and will feature a live no reserve auction, an open bar with specialty cocktails courtesy of Bombay Sapphire, live entertainment and in-house street painting. Ronald McDonald House is an international organization that provides housing to families of children receiving medical treatment. The organization is located in 62 countries and regions. It work helps nearly nine million families each year.

Enjoy an evening of new, student-composed electro-acoustic music at Florida International University’s FEASt Festival. The event is entirely organized by students of FIU’s Electro-Acoustic Research Society (EARS) and will showcase electro-acoustic works and performances composed by students in Florida, the U.S. and abroad.

Head to Fort Lauderdale for a fundraiser like no other. The Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America is hosting its annual Evening of Hope fundraiser at the Atlantic Hotel & Spa. Guests will enjoy a “night on the boardwalk” with fortune-tellers, a photo booth, “fun”raiser games and sideshow performances. Admission includes musical entertainment, open bar and passed hors d’oeuvres. Proceeds will benefit CCFA, a volunteer-based non-profit organization dedicated to curing Chrohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis and improving the lives of those affected by these diseases.

Lace up your sneakers for the Tommy Hilfiger ZooRun5K and ZooKids Dash through Zoo Miami to benefit West Kendall Baptist Hospital and the Zoological Society of Florida. Participants will receive free entry to Zoo Miami for the day and their friends and family will receive 50 percent off the price of admission. Proceeds will benefit West Kendall Baptist Hospital and the Zoological Society’s partnership to improve the health of the local environment and the community.
