Meera Rajagopalan is the Austin Editor for Miss A. A proud Longhorn, Meera earned her journalism degree from UT. Some of her hobbies include event planning, writing and baking. Happy Halloween (weekend) Austin! With plenty of tricks and treats around every corner in our “weird” city, you are most likely to find someway to spend the weekend. Whether it’s rocking out with zombies, laughing at the movies or heading out to COTA for some Formula 1, we hope you have a fun and safe Halloween. Here are three events that last all weekend long.

How the West Was Formula 1

Last year, 250,325 guests ventured to Austin and filled the Circuit of The Americas (COTA). This year it is sure to be bigger than ever. Apart from the Formula 1 United States Grand Prix, there will also be The Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli, the longest standing single-mark championship series. And on Sunday, guests can “watch the world’s best drivers take a lap” in classic cars during the pre-race Drivers Parade.

House of Torment

In its “12th season of terror,” House of Torment is back and ready to make you and your friends scream. With “terrifying creatures, dancers and entertainers that interact with you,” to the special effects and stunts, it attracts tens of thousands fans each year. It has even been named “One of America’s Scariest Haunted Attractions” by the Travel Channel. The Wall Street Journal also called it “20,000 feet of terror.”

There are three attractions this year. They include “Blackthorne District Realms Collide,” “Cursed: The Coven,” and “Slaughterhouse: The Feeding.”

Tapestry Dance Company presents Soul/Sole Connections

“All of us have our unique connection to the world, to our spirit and through our soul – rhythm is the thread that makes the connections for all of us.” As the Tapestry Dance Company opens their 26th Season,  they will celebrate some of the best tap artists from around the world. Created by Artistic Director Acia Gray, Soul/Sole Connections will showcase that journey through the diverse language of the multi-form tap dance.
