Miss A Columnist

Amada Villalobos is a second year Child Adolescence and Development (CAD) major and journalism minor at San Francisco State University. She is the first generation in her immediate family to go to college and is interested in helping under-privileged or overlooked children have the same option. She was a freelance writer for her high school newspaper and did some reporting for the online sports page liveatthegame.com based in the Central Coast of California. Some organizations that she holds dear to her heart are, Advanced Via Individual Determination (AVID), New Door Ventures and Real Opportunities for City Kids (R.O.C.K), because they all have a unique way of reaching children for a better tomorrow. On her off time Amada likes to go running around Lake Merced, bicycling in Golden Gate Park or near Cliff House and hiking on the Lands End trails. She also loves to read and write and has a weird fascination with Farmers Markets and coffee mugs. Amada is hoping to graduate from SFSU on time and continue onto graduate school for her masters in CAD. Her plan is to go to the East Coast, either Boston or New York for Graduate school.
