Miss A Columnist

Colleen McNicholas is a Chicago South Sider who frequently wanders the streets of the windy city. She is always on the lookout for the best food and adventures this city has to offer. She is a Columbia College Chicago grad and is a marketing/PR professional. A few years ago, Colleen realized how many limitations she was putting on her life and decided she needed a change. She created a bucket list back in 2011 and has been following that bucket list ever since. Now, Colleen finally feels like she is living the life she has always wanted. When not working, volunteering, or trying new restaurants, she enjoys playing the guitar, fashion, going to concerts, running races, and meeting new people. Colleen is also a big thrill seeker: from extreme zip lining, to helicopter rides, to whale watching in Alaska, all the way to skydiving. Colleen wants to inspire people to take risks, try new things, and enjoy every second of life.

Walk Of Revival To Benefit foreverU: A Pro-Love Movement Against Bullying

(Photo Credit: https://www.facebook.com/ForeverUmovement)On Saturday, October 11, 2014 at the New Lenox Commons, foreverU will be hosting their 2nd annual Walk of Revival. This is foreverU’s main event for the month in honor of October being “Anti-Bully Awareness Month.” The evening will include a candle light walk, a time of silence, and transformation. Please be sure to bring your own candles to the event.

This will also be foreverU’s first year of their Replenishing Hope Campaign. Please be sure to bring any canned goods or non-perishable items. The items will be sent to local food pantries. With Thanksgiving coming up next month, this would be a wonderful opportunity to pay it forward to families in need. foreverU’s merchandise, information, pledge, and more will be available at their booth. If at all possible, make a donation to the organization at the event.

foreverU is a pro-love movement that focuses on raising awareness of bullying and the effects bullying has on teens. The organization is dedicated to give victims a safe and positive environment by promoting solutions towards bullying. The organization began in May of 2012 by founder Ryan Hesslau. Ryan decided to take a stand against bullying via social media. foreverU started out as a Facebook page to bring hope to victims and they have now grown into a non-profit organization focusing on pro-love movement against bullying.
