Come out for the fourth annual Day of the Dead 5k hosted by Centro in downtown Raleigh on Saturday, October 25, 2014 starting at 11:00 a.m.
Race-day registration begins at 11am, with the 5k race starting at noon. Registration cost $25 and all ages are welcome to participate.
A kids’ run will begin immediately following the 5k race and there will be prizes for overall 5k race winners, age group category winners, and for participants dressed in the 3 best Calaveras costumes.
This annual race and festival celebrates the Hispanic culture and the Day of the Dead, a holiday where the impermanence of life is celebrated with some of the most comforting things in life; friends, flowers, and food.
All proceeds will benefit the Boys and Girls Club of Wake County, a non-profit whose mission is to enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens.
During the last three years, this event has had over 1,500 runners and have been able to contribute over $24k to the Boys and Girls Club.
