Dena Miller is the Dallas Editor for Miss A. She has been described by Style Network as a "Queen Bee". Formerly a glam rock scene Diva, Dena is now a Socialite on the Dallas philanthropy scene, specializing in Polo events that benefit women's and children's causes.

While never forgetting her small town roots from a Midwestern farming community in rural Missouri, she’s fit right in the “Big D” since coming here in 1984. After 11 years of promoting the music scene, hobnobbing with the most popular bands from coast to coast, she switched gears after meeting her husband at the first Polo match she ever attended. Always one for excitement, Polo became her new rock n roll.
With her marriage and new found passion for polo, came Philanthropy. Miller founded the Ladies Polo Auxiliary of Texas in 2005 with the goal of promoting the Sport of Kings in north Texas via charity events for causes that are close to her heart. To date the LPA has raised over $500,000 for causes such as domestic violence, children with serious medical needs, therapeutic horsemanship, the Polo Training Foundation, children’s advocacy and food drives for north Texas food Bank. When not working on her own events she is attending Charity luncheons and balls as well as volunteering at golf tournaments and Special Olympics events. She is a member of the USPA Equine Welfare committee and on Board of Dress For Succes Dallas.

Writing has been a lifetime passion of Dena’s. Besides working on a book that proceeds will benefit domestic violence organizations, and writing for two national polo magazines, is a frequent contributor to Dallas area publications, winning Best Contributor Award from Dallas Morning News Neighborsgo, she is co-authoring a book on the phenomenon of cyber bullying by adult women, referred to as Cyber Harrassment.

10th Annual Polo On The Midway To Benefit Boys & Girls Clubs Of Greater Dallas

poster.jpgPrestonwood Polo and Country Club will host the Tenth Annual Polo on the Midway produced annually by the Ladies Polo Auxiliary of Texas.  Founded in 2005 by event Chair Dena Miller, with  Jackie Dorbritz, and Lisa Stemaly, this event has dual purposes: to promote the Sport of Kings in the North Texas community and to raise funds and awareness for important children’s causes.  This years event has been awarded to Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Dallas. The programs offered at Boys and Girls Clubs provide strong moral guidance, positive role models and life-changing educational programs. Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Dallas is an organization that stands for traditional values, while providing progressive programs that address the problems faced by the youth of today.  Today, over 6,000 Club members benefit from the programs and services designed specifically for them at Dallas area local Clubs. Co-Chair Lisa Modur brings a new twist to the event with the addition of ballet on the Midway.

Polo on the Midway attendees will be treated to live thoroughbred action with the excitement of the 380 Guide Community Challenge Cup Polo match , hit the Fairbanks Midway and enjoy live music by Alyx kicking off the festivities-Britnee Belt from Pink Couch Studios performs during the half time period- celebrities like WFAA’s Brian Glenn, Texas Revolutions running back Jen Welter,  DFW Style Daily’s Lisa Petty, Mr. North Texas Universal Douglas Green O’Neill, and more  are getting “dunked for dollars” – Traditional Champagne Divot Stomp-Rolls Royce Club Car Show filmed by The Car Guy  Show-PonyRides/Petting Zoo-Bounce Houses-Woofstock  Second Chance Camp Adoption Dogs-Silent Auction-Ballet performance by Avant Chamber Ballet –Live music by Reagan Nation.  Food and beverages available for purchase courtesy of Vizcarro Catering.
