Alexandra Figueredo is founder of Mission Based Branding Institute, a full-service communications agency dedicated to helping mission-driven businesses and entrepreneurs. She enjoys speaking and writing about topics related to social good and cause marketing. Prior to her communications career, she worked in banking for nearly a decade, most recently as an officer at a private bank in Miami. During her years in the corporate world, she realized her legacy was to give back to others, which drove her to resign and work with philanthropic measures and ultimately create her agency. In 2011, she released her first book Sculpt Your Life From Sketch to Masterpiece(TM), a practical and inspirational guide helping readers discover their mission and create a mission-based business. She has been involved in singing, musical theater and dance performances her whole life and is particularly passionate about giving back to causes that use arts for therapeutic means to help under-served youth. Alexandra completed her master’s in Global Strategic Communications at Florida International University, and obtained her bachelor’s in Business from University of Florida. Guests will enjoy a fashion show showcasing the latest trends inside the Neiman Marcus in the Village of Merrick Park. A $25 donation provides access to the fashion show, premium cocktails and tasty hors d’oeuvres. Guests will also have the chance to win marvelous prizes, including sports memorabilia, vacations, gift certificates and many more. This year’s fashion show is presented by Farrell & Patel, Attorneys at Law and organized by Miami Children’s Young Ambassadorsa group of community leaders between the ages of 22 and 45 who share the common goal of implementing positive change for the betterment of children. On Saturday, September 20, join the Young Leaders of the United Way of Miami-Dade at their first Build Your Own Brunch B.Y.O.B, event to benefit the United Way. While mingling with other young professionals, guests will be guided by three of Miami’s top chefs in creating a three-course brunch. The three participating chefs–Timon Balloo of SUGARCANE Raw Bar GrillAntonio Bachour of the St. Regis Bal Harbour and Makoto Okuwa of Makoto–will take the stage to guide attendees through each course of the meal. Culinary students from Johnson & Wales will walk the floor to answer questions and serve as sous chefs and sommeliers. Twenty-five percent of the net proceeds will go toward Make-A-Wish Southern Florida. The event will also benefit WCR Broward and Women In Distress. Admission includes 5,000 gaming chips, two cocktails and unlimited hors d’oeuvres. There will also be opportunities to win prizes in the grand finale raffle. yoga gangstersThis Sunday, September 21, take on the Yoga Gangsters Challenge of completing 108 sun salutations, while joining the national community challenge of raising $120,000 to continue bringing yoga programs to kids in schools, jails and shelters across the country. Doors open at 10 a.m. and there will be opportunities throughout the day to practice yoga, eat, shop, win prizes and meet fellow yogis. For the complete agenda, click here. All of the funds raised will go to Yoga Gangsters, a Florida-based non-profit organization. Since its inception, Yoga Gangsters has shared the gift of yoga with over 8,500 kids in 12 states, and has rallied 850 volunteers to support a national movement of love and empowerment through yoga. This weekend the Challenge takes place in Ft. Lauderdale, and next Sunday, September 28, the Challenge will come to Miami.
