Richa Desai is a first-generation born Indian-American, who enjoys writing about and exploring the exciting city of Miami. Originally from Chicago, Richa is a Miami transplant who is looking to make a difference in her community through charity and volunteering. She enjoys being involved with charity events, because it gives her enormous satisfaction knowing she has helped other people. Her passions include: writing, dancing, exercising, sports and making her mark in the social scene. One of Richa’s greatest talents is reaching out to younger generations by pointing them in a positive direction, through a Q&A series. Richa is currently pursuing a doctorate degree in the health-care field and plans on promoting health and wellness her whole life. Her decision to be a part of the health-care field sparked after her very first volunteer experience at a local hospital, when she was in high school. For the first time, she was able to see outside herself and put positive energy towards helping other people. She is very excited and honored to be a writer for the Miss A organization!

3rd Annual Fashion Gives Back Event To Benefit Miami Children’s Hospital


Get a look at this season’s styles on Thursday, September 18, 2014 at the 3rd Annual Fashion Gives Back event to benefit Miami Children’s Hospital (MCH). Guests will enjoy a fashion show showcasing the latest trends inside the Neiman Marcus in the Village of Merrick Park. A $25 donation provides access to the fashion show, premium cocktails and tasty hors d’oeuvres. Guests will also have the chance to win marvelous prizes, including sports memorabilia, vacations, gift certificates and many more.

This year’s fashion show is presented by Farrell & Patel, Attorneys at Law and organized by Miami Children’s Young Ambassadorsa group of community leaders between the ages of 22 and 45 who share the common goal of implementing positive change for the betterment of children. In years past, the fashion show fundraiser has raised over $30,000, thanks to the community’s collective efforts.



MCH provides advanced care to hundreds of children in the nation. Nine of their pediatric specialty services are ranked among the best in the country and MCH is nationally ranked in all 10 pediatric sub specialties. In addition, Miami Children’s Cancer Center and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit serve as top programs in the United States. Show your support by attending this year’s event and truly make a difference in the lives of the many children treated at MCH every day.
