Amanda Belo is a communications professional living in Chicago by way of North Carolina (GO HEELS!). Her heart will always belong to the East Coast. In addition to being passionate about the arts, culture, travel, food, and social good, Amanda has always loved to write and tell compelling stories. Amanda finds something new about Chicago every day and she cannot wait to explore more about the city and Chicagoans as a writer for Miss A. She earned her bachelor's degree in dance, with a minor in communication studies from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, and her master's degree in public relations and advertising from DePaul University.

Billie Jean King To Keynote Chicago Foundation For Women’s 29th Annual Luncheon

The Chicago Foundation for Women‘s (CFW) 29th Annual Luncheon will celebrate the achievements of women and girls by bringing together a diverse audience that includes business, philanthropy, government, nonprofit, media and community members. The luncheon will be held on Thursday, September 18 in Downtown Chicago. Proceeds help the Foundation achieve its mission to connect need, money and solutions for women and girls throughout metropolitan Chicago. 

CFW was founded in 1985 and raises money to fund and support organizations that help women and girls. Their grants focus on the following strategies to help improve the lives for women and girls: Expanding economic security; Ensuring freedom from violence; and, Enhancing access to health services and information.

This year’s featured keynote speaker will be tennis great and social equality activist, Billie Jean King.
