An explosion of color and vibrance invaded the New York fashion scene on September 5, 2014 as hundreds gathered for the Stella Nolasco Spring/Summer 2015 fashion show at the Lincoln Center Pavilion. The Puerto Rican designer, highly recognized for her acute attention to detail and modern sophisticated designs, made it known through her multi-look presentation that the warmer seasons of 2015 will be all about romanticism with a twist of “naughty meets nice.” The avante-garde designer gave hints of “barely there” wear while still exuding femininity and elegance. From laser cut designs in pastels to nude illusion elements, models graced the runway in what Nolasco predicts to be the hottest for the Spring and Summer seasons. Jumpsuits, babydoll dresses and floor-length maxis will still be hits for next year as these top trends ruled the runway in beautiful adornments, shimmer and shine. The mood of the presentation overall, albeit carefree, was one that paired well with thoughts of relaxing getaways and a Miami-esque styled vacay–a perfect combination for the designs that were showcased.
Seen in the crowd was Academy Award-winning actress and comedienne, Whoopi Goldberg amongst other fashion notables of the industry. Nolasco, a native of Puerto Rico, has been worn by Beyonce, a wealth of Latin celebrities and is also a featured designer at Neiman Marcus. The sought after designer comes first choice to some for wardrobe selections at Miami’s top charitable galas as well as others, such as Carlos Delgado who has modeled her looks for charity.
As the top designer in Puerto Rico, Stella Nolasco has transcended bounds by making a significant name for herself not only at her latest presentation at Fashion Week but in the U.S. market overall. Eyes will continue to be on this designer as she looks to be one of the elite in modern womenswear designs.
