When Evil Dead premiered at SXSW in 2013, Bruce Campbell referenced Evil Dead: The Musical and encouraged all attendees to see it if they ever got the chance. Now Austinites have that opportunity at The Long Center this fall. The story follows the well-known trilogy of Evil Dead, Evil Dead 2 and Army of Darkness. As in the first film, five college students head

out to a cabin in the woods for a weekend of relaxation and discover instead an evil presence located there. Through an ancient book, they unleash this evil and find themselves fighting and fleeing in an attempt to survive. Of course, main character Ash must strive to save the day with the help of his iconic chainsaw.

The show has already been seen by many in New York, Toronto and Las Vegas and is now coming to Austin from September 17 through the 21. In addition to the classic story and hilarious songs, this is the only musical in the world which allows audiences to sit in the “splatter zone” and get the full, bloody experience of Evil Dead: The Musical.
