Recently, Brian Hart, owner of Frame de Art in Englewood, donated 15 framed Peyton Manning-signed football jerseys to nonprofits for their fundraising auctions in 2013 and 2014.
Partnering with Aaron Rankin of Preferred Auto Broker, the donation raised about $2,500 in a live auction at the annual fundraising dinner of the Porter-Billups Leadership Academy, held July 26, 2014 at the Ritz-Carlton in Downtown Denver. The framed jerseys are worth approximately $1,200 each.
Lonnie Porter, head men’s basketball coach at Regis University, started the Porter-Billups Leadership academy in 1996, where it provides academic and leadership training to at-risk inner-city students from Denver. The name of the event came about when NBA great and Denverite Chauncey Billups, joined Porter in 2006 to help with the academy.
Frame de Art’s community giving includes donating framing (900 times so far) for the weekly 7News Everyday Hero awards for 15 years. Hart is giving away the 16th framed Manning jersey on Aug. 23 on Denver’s Craig Silverman Show.
