Goodshop, an e-commerce website originally launched in 2007, has announced the newest addition to its company by way of its new shopping mobile app, Goodshop App. Similar to the website, users have the opportunity to browse and purchase from major retailers including Macy’s, Amazon, Best Buy and the like with the opportunity to give back up to an average of 3% to a chosen cause with each purchase. To date–Goodshop, in addition to many of its other sister sites, has raised in excess of $11 million for multiple charity causes and organizations with the toll rising daily with the new inclusion of the mobile app.
With just one touch, users have access to more than 200,000 coupons, promo codes and deals with the opportunity to choose from a list of over 110,000 schools and nonprofits across the nation with major organizations such as the ASPCA and Stand Up To Cancer or smaller agencies making an impact at a local level. “I’m always using my iPhone to shop my favorite stores,” says Mary Harkey of Los Angeles. “The Goodshop app lets me save at each one and helps me make a difference to my local hospital too, so why wouldn’t I choose that option everytime I shop?”
Funds from Goodshop have been used to feed the homeless, purchase school supplies, build school playgrounds and fund cancer research to name a few. Since the site’s launch in 2007, the potential to give back and the number of charitable beneficiary organizations increases exponentially year by year. “The Goodshop app is a wonderful way for people to incorporate ‘doing good’ into their everyday lives while shopping,” says Colin Morris, VP of Product at Goodshop. “We see it as a perfect win-win, where shoppers can purchase everything that they need, save money with great deals, and make the world better too!”
