A fun event to support the dreams of talented young singers in Chicago? Don’t miss it! This Thursday, June 5, 2014 at 6 p.m., the Chicago Children’s Choir top-level ensemble, Voice of Chicago will perform in the James C. Tyree Auditorium in the Chicago headquarters of Mesirow Financial.
President and Artistic Director Josephine Lee says, “Guests will experience a memorable evening featuring repertoire ranging from Mozart to South African folk songs honoring the late Nelson Mandela, and concluding with an uplifting Motown medley. Attendees will have the rare opportunity to listen to and meet the Voice of Chicago in an intimate setting before the singers embark on their tour of South Africa.”
The pre-event networking reception and concert will host some of the top business and cultural leaders in Chicago, including South African Consul General Vuyiswa Tulelo.
“We are thrilled to be selected as one of the arts organizations for this year’s Mesirow Financial Presents! series,” said Kenda Lovecchio, Director of Advancement. “Support from Mesirow Financial directly benefits Voice of Chicago’s tour to South Africa this June. As a result of contributions garnered through this partnership we are able to fund the travel of 55 talented young Chicago singers and provide them with a once in a lifetime cultural experience.”
