Charity Spotlight: Soldier Socks

544045_10152066581194298_368097089_nSelflessness at its finest, a soldier’s life is one of love, pride, and getting the job done.  Many of our troops overseas face daily provocations with lack of simple hygienic items we take for granted, while many returning home face the difficult task of assimilating back into civilian life.  Luckily for us, there is a way to help our soldiers and show our support to those overseas and to those returning home.

SoldierSocks is a nonprofit dedicated to serving men and women who currently serve or have recently served in the armed forces. The mission of the organization is straightforward: to support these individuals with the simple, yet essential things they need to succeed. SoldierSocks provides those on the battlefield with basic needs such as socks, baby wipes, and other hygienic products–many things we take for granted at home. For those returning home, the organization helps find employment, and fosters continuing education and support for those wounded on the field of battle.

It’s true, we will never fully understand the trials and tribulations faced overseas, but we can make a small effort to help ease the struggle and say, ‘thank you’ in the process.  It’s time for make an effort to do the right thing. After all, it’s the American way.
