Gil Walsh is well-known for her extraordinary eye for design, color and fabric. She has led over $200 million in design work over 40 years, and realized early in her career that interior design enabled her to integrate her keen fashion sense with her deep interest in art history, antiques and architecture. Each project provides her a new canvas on which to express different sides of her client’s  personality, and surprise them with key elements of fabulous design.

Motto: “Passionate visionaries collaborating with clients to create environments that evoke comfort, function and style”

What are three words that best describe you? Honest, sincere and passionate

How do you describe being an interior designer? You have to love this field; be willing to work.  Designers put in a lot of effort for great personal rewards with reduced monetary rewards.

What inspires you most about your work? Overcoming the challenges that clients put in front of you and presenting them with a finish project that exceeds their expectations.

What experience in your career are you most proud of? Fallingwater? Yes! Fallingwater has been a wonderful experience with tremendous learning abilities.

What advice would you share with those still in school? Interior Design is not just book learning.  Getting out into the world; travel; observing art, fashions, theatre.  Experience international and domestic interior architectural details and gardens.  See how nature uses color.

Why is giving back important to you? We need to support our communities at all levels; this is where we live.

How has giving back helped you? Giving back helps me personally by supporting those that are struggling in their lives.  If business comes to me from that, then it is a plus.

How do you incorporate giving back into your life and your business? I support charities that are important to me both personally and on a business level.

Which charities are near and dear to you and why?  I am interested in the arts specifically The Maltz Theatre, Lighthouse Center for the Arts,  our local hospital Jupiter Medical Center and our local turtle center The Loggerhead Marine Center.

When it comes to your own philanthropic efforts, what do you look back at and feel made the largest impact on those that you set out to help?  My support of the Loggerhead Marine Life Center gives me confidence that by preserving our environment it will help to sustain our planet for future generations.

What is the most creative fundraising idea you’ve come across?  I love to have small trunk shows showcasing jewelry and clothing with a percentage of all sales then being donated to a charity.

What are some must-attend charity events in for you? The Maltz Theatre 2015 Annual Fundraiser being held at the Breakers in Palm Beach Florida.
