Rebecca Richards is an estate planning and taxation attorney from New York. This “recovering attorney” is enjoying all that Miami has to offer – whether it be attending one of the many Miami festivals, touring historic Villa Vizcaya, or sunning on South Beach. Previously, Becky published scholarly articles on estate planning and taxation, and is now is exploring her creativity to write feature articles on a wide variety of topics. While living on Long Island, she was involved in several community service projects and hopes to continue this work in Miami by spreading the word to others through writing. Becky also enjoys music, all things outdoors, meeting new people, and reading. She received her bachelor’s degree in journalism from Western Connecticut State University and her law degree from Hofstra University School of Law. Go green with The Patricia and Phillip Frost Museum of Science and more than 75 FedEx volunteers at the third annual Community Conservation Project. Volunteers will replant twenty species of shrubs and trees at Oleta River State Park as part of a grant program sponsored by FedEx and National Fish and Wildlife Foundation (NFWF). The Patricia and Phillip Frost Museum of Science was one of 16 non-profit organizations from across the country chosen by FedEx and NFWF to receive a grant in 2014. The museum’s grant funds its MuVE project through which FedEx volunteers in Miami support projects that restore ecological services. Projects include that provide wildlife habitats, capture carbon emissions and ensure green spaces for future generations.

Experience the first annual Made.In.Miami Fashion Design Exposé, the only fashion design competition exclusively for emerging Miami-Dade and Broward designers. The theme for this year’s competition is SCANDAL. Made.In.Miami’s mission is to provide a platform for young designers to showcase their work and launch a national career. The winner of the Fashion Design Exposé will  receive a flight and accommodations to New York City’s Couture Fashion Week 2015, expenses paid by Made.In.Miami.

Treat Mom like a queen at Coral Castle Museum. This stone castle and garden were carved single-handedly by Edward Leedskalnin in the 1940s. Leedskalnin worked secretly at night, so no one knows how he sculpted over 1,100 tons of coral rocks to create this riveting structure.
