Golden Walk For Autism At Austin’s Dell Diamond

The second annual Golden Walk for Autism  will be a fun-filled gold-themed parade. Besides the parade, there will be live music, food, and games and activities for the whole family. This event will help raise awareness for those individuals with autism spectrum disorders.

In order to help fuel the Golden Hat Foundation’s missions and goals, there are two big ways guests are able to participate in this event. Live in Austin? Be sure to sign-up and volunteer for the May event. There will be lots to do including a costume contest. Won’t be in town that weekend? Donate online and spread the word.

The Golden Hat Foundation was co-founded by Kate Winslet and Margret D. Ericsdottir. The duo first met when Kate recorded Margret’s documentary, “A Mother’s Courage: Talking Back to Autism.” The Foundation is dedicated to bring much needed focus on the intellectual capabilities of those with autism and their inherent rights as human beings.

Funds raised go directly back to furthering the foundation’s mission and goals. It establishes post-high school innovative living campuses, along with a center for outreach that will be a training facility for professionals, school districts and other specialists to continue their education of inclusion. Through the help of donors, the first campus will be in Austin!
