Foodies and dessert lovers, come out on Friday, April 25 at the Chicago Urban Art Society to indulge in one of Chicago’s sweetest charity events, a unique dessert and cocktail benefit, all guilt-free! This year will be the inaugural A Charitable Confection to benefit Project Orange Tree.
Project Orange Tree is an awareness organization, completely youth-run, whose main focus is eliminating and creating awareness about systemic violence that effects Chicago. This organization is empowered by the Lupe Fiasco Foundation.
Funds from A Charitable Confection will directly benefit the teens’ initiative called “Project Oasis”, where land will be purchased in Chicago’s urban areas to supply food deserts with community gardens and transform empty lots into something that can benefit the community!
The Charitable Confection is hosted by none other than Jocelyn Delk Adams, author and creator behind one of the best baking blogs out there, Grandbaby Cakes. Ask Miss A profiled Jocelyn for a Charity Meets interview back in December, to read more about Jocelyn, click here.
Hosted by reporter and anchor Michelle Relerford of NBC 5 Chicago, the evening will include some amazing treats, special raffles, and a silent auction.
