Take a queue from Gatsby himself at the Avergan Foundation‘s Hush-Hush Speakeasy in Annapolis! For one night only, the Crush Kitchen & Winehouse will be transformed into a secret club, complete with a vintage vaudeville-inspired hoop performance, Swing and Charleston dance lessons, and a 1920’s themed photo booth! A ticket includes one complimentary drink and a spread of hors d’oeuvres, as well as live music and the chance to win cash prizes.
All proceeds from the glitzy, glamorous evening, sponsored by the Friends Foundation, will directly benefit the Avergan Foundation’s mission to provide early-education scholarships to children on the autism spectrum. Allison and Tom Barnhill, founders of Avergan Foundation, launched their charity in the fall of 2013, inspired by their personal experiences to raise awareness and acceptance of autism spectrum disorders. Scholarships will aid children attending The Cisco Center, a non-profit educational center which specializes in developmental disorders such as Autism, Down’s Syndrome, and Attention Deficit Disorder.
Pull out your flapper dress or fedora, enjoy a cocktail (or a few), and rewind the clock for a good cause. To quote the wise Jay Gatsby himself, “Can’t repeat the past? Why, of course you can.”
