Miss A Columnist

Tori McPherson is a business professional who was born and raised in Nashville, Tennessee. She received her marketing degree from Harding University in Arkansas, and is as passionate about her hometown as she is about exploring new cities. She is always in search of the world’s best iced coffee, and believes that sarcasm is the best form of communication. In her spare time she likes eating copious amounts of Mexican food, being a terrible dancer, and singing songs outside her range to her goldendoodle Kizzy. She currently volunteers weekly in the Emergency Department at Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital, and spent a month volunteering in an orphanage in the Dominican Republic during college. She is a firm believer that the true measure of a person is how nice they are to someone who cannot benefit them in any way. She travels across the United States monthly working as a client development manager for a local healthcare company. She has visited New Zealand, Iceland, and much of Europe, and intends to travel the rest of the world before settling down. She is always up to try something new - whether it is a craft cocktail, a good book, or a new hiking trail. She is proud to call Nashville home, and vows to become a successful philanthropic businesswoman without ever having worn a matching pantsuit.

It’s no secret that Nashville has no shortage of star power. On April 15, 2014, stars from every industry will be coming together to flip the tables – and wait on their fans! The 13th annual Waiting for Wishes dinner will be held at The Palm downtown, an event where some of Nashville’s most esteemed celebrities will play server for the night to raise money for the Kevin Carter Foundation.

Hosted by former Titan Kevin Carter and Rascal Flatts’ Jay DeMarcus, the evening has plenty in store, from the restaurant’s famous surf and turf dinner to an after party next door at Honky Tonk Central. Stars on the bill for the evening so far include country music singers Scotty McCreery and Chris Young, ABC’s Nashville actor Charles Esten, and Olympic skater Scott Hamilton, among several others! This event has been a long running success in Nashville and this year promises to live up to the hype.
