Olive and Finch is its own genre of restaurant. It’s a cross between restaurant and cafe serving up food inspired by different European regions, you can dine under rustic lights and unique farm-esque decor that fits perfectly with the O&F theme.
In addition to their regular menu, Olive and Finch is introducing their new dinner menu that is served from Thursday – Saturday. Just like its unique decor and space, the dinner menu has its unique points in creation, flavor and ordering process.
The ordering process is almost like being in a sushi restaurant except you’re not overwhelmed with 100 choices. Dishes are divided into sections namely starters, tartine, salads and entrees on the menu. From there you place a check mark next to the choice of food and inform the servers of any allergies or special requests. You’re not obligated to pick from each section too. In fact, you can try everything in the tartine section or eat all the salads they provide. So you can pick your food according to your taste buds, hunger level or curiosity. Beverages – alcoholic and non-alcoholic – are also ordered the same way with options of different sizes.
In terms of creation and flavors, the dinner menu serves up a number of comfort foods but with a pinch of something new and different that is enough to pull you a little out of your comfort zone and say “this is so delicious!”
If you’re curious on what to order on your visit, here’s a quick suggestion from Miss A:
For starters, try the beef meatball. Served with caramelized onions, red chili flakes on a bed of well done grits – you’ll probably want to order two. Move on to the roasted red peppers tartine or the mushroom duxelle tartine for the dairy-free eaters, also known as the french style open-faced sandwich accompanied with a fancy spread. Now, O&F’s tartines are still small in size so if you’re still hungry then try the shaved fennel salad – the candied orange peels really seals the flavors together. Finally, finish your dinner with the succulent beef bourguignon.
Speaking of O&F being is its own genre of restaurant, this fantastic little restaurant/cafe has been giving back to the community since its opening – and it’s not even been 6 months!
Every month this humble restaurant works with a local non-profit through in-house fundraisers including the coffee program. Basically, the coffee station is an honor system where guests can walk in, grab a cup of coffee and pay for the coffee in a box on the wall. A non-profit will be picked each month and for one week of the month the money raised at the coffee station will go to the non profit. This month, Olive and Finch is working with Mending Faces, a local non-profit dedicated to providing free surgical correction for impoverished children with cleft lip and cleft palates in developing countries.
Every dish is guaranteed to surprise your senses. Your eyes will widen from presentation to the last lick of your finger, your nose will become intrigued by the combination of flavors, your taste buds will naturally thank you and your experience will leave you telling your friends and family to make their way to Olive and Finch.
