On Friday, March 28, 2018, Children’s Hospital of New Orleans will hold its annual black tie event, the Sugarplum Ball. Known for its extravagant themes and fashions and its delicious food, the Sugarplum Ball is without a doubt, one of New Orleans’s most sought after events.
This year’s event. chaired by Evelyn Kissel and Andrea Mahfouz, will see its proceeds benefiting the Neonatal Intensive Unit (NICU) of the hospital.
The NICU is a state-of-the art, 36-bed critical care unit for newborns that provides care for issues ranging from prematurity to neonatal respiratory distress to infections and birth defects.
To ensure the region’s sickest babies receive the highest level care, the NICU has expanded more than five times its original size since opening in 1988. In 2012, 228 babies were admitted to the NICU and stayed an average of 30 days.
With the theme, “Fly Away,” it will be held at the Terminal at Lakefront Airport. Attendees will be transported to the Golden Age of
Aviation. Think Leo DiCaprio and Cate Blanchett/Kate Beckinsale in The Aviator.
Tickets for the Take Off package include tickets for the event and name inclusion as a sponsor for the program for $350.00
Enjoy food samplings from some of NOLA’s finest restaurants, great music and open bar. Last year’s event was Midnight In Paris and it was très ooh la la! Trust me, grab your fancy dresses and boarding passes, you don’t want to miss take off!
