On Saturday, April 5, 2014, the Ecole Bilingue de la Nouvelle-Orleans will host its fifth Fete Francaise. With the theme of “A certain je ne sais quoi…”, this year’s event promises fun – including live music, food vendors, silent auction, and more – for the entire family.
Located on General Pershing, between Magazine and Constance streets, the school’s campus provides a perfect venue for the day’s activities. With two stages, ten musical performances are planned, including the Soul Rebels, T’Monde, and Sweet Crude. In addition, a very special second-line will be led by one of New Orleans’ favorite dance troupes, The Camel Toe Lady Steppers.
All funds from Fete Francaise will go to support the academic and programming efforts of the Ecole Bilingue. As the only private school to be endorsed by both the Ministry of Education of the Republic of France and the State of Louisiana, the institution holds great academic and cultural importance to the city of New Orleans. It is the school’s ongoing mission to “provide a distinctive bilingual eduction… by combining the best of the French and American traditions.”
