The Children’s Inn at NIH knows how to throw a party! Washington, DC’s young professional elite came out in full force to play in the photo booth, but more importantly, celebrate in their “creative cocktail” attire to fundraise for The Children’s Inn at NIH. Based on the amount of sequined dresses and statement dress pants, everyone brought out their very best to fête the great work done at the Children’s Inn.
On February 22, 2014, the Young Ambassadors Council packed both floors of the Powerhouse in Georgetown as they hosted their Third Annual A WINNter Affair to raise awareness of The Children’s Inn’s mission throughout the D.C. community. Children come from across the country and around the world to stay together with their families in The Inn’s healing environment while receiving groundbreaking medical treatments at the NIH, the world’s leading biomedical research center. The gorgeous dessert table and DJ Neekola kept the party going, spinning beats from the second level of the venue.
I had a fabulous time deciding which raffles to enter – Caps tickets or a weekend wine tour for seven? Is it too soon for some stand-up paddleboarding on the Potomac? My boyfriend and I loved entering about every raffle and visiting the photo booth at least three times for the perfect photo booth montage. It was truly an unforgettable evening meeting the Young Ambassadors and DC-area professionals working to support seriously ill children and their families. While we didn’t win anything or attain photo booth perfection, we surely won’t miss this gala next year!
