Three words to describe this year’s Amuse’um 2014 benefiting Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. Whimsical, Fun, and Fabulous. First let me say kuddos to event chairs Barbarella Diaz, Jeri Morgan, and Abby Perez. A lot of thought had to have went into planning an adult’s only night out. As a mother of three daughters, with long standing ties and gratitude for the empathy and care of the doctor’s and staff of Children’s Health Care of Atlanta. I can totally appreciate all the care and effort these wonderful women put in this particular charity event.

As you enter into the Children’s Museum of Atlanta you were immediately greeted by the kid like decor. With Museum staff in full character mode, they represented each country in the world. International cuisines from around the world were set up buffet style and available to patrons throughout the entire evening. Along with passed hors d’oeurves, signature cocktails and an open bar, the set up was definitely the scene for adults to act like children for one night. Guests had the option of participating in a silent or live auction which offered elegant and elaborate items to bid on, Adult friendly games like Gas Guy Safari presented by  Gas South where guests went on their own personal scavenger hunt for prizes, Head or Tails Raffle for a 1,000 Target gift card (my personal favorite), Wall of Wine, and Green Screen Photos.

Questra MaCuba Latin Band (Photo credit: LaTasha Green)

Questra MaCuba one of the best salsa bands in Atlanta (in my opinion) provide superb music throughout the evening. Guests could not stay off the dance floor. After you have danced the night away they made sure you had one more reminder of your evening of child like play. An international candy table with delightful sweets and treats for guests to take home.

Children’s Healthcare should be proud of the accomplishments, love, and support they provide for thousands of children and their families. The money raised is needed and deserved. I personally look forward to next year and if you missed it please make every effort to attend!

Chairman Stephen M. LaMastra, Major sponsors include Gas South, The Coca Cola Company, Novelis, State Street Global Advisors, Alston & Bird LLP, Krystal, and Wells Fargo.
