For the fashionistas of the world, February 28, 2014 is going to be a very special day.  The one and only Sarah Jessica Parker will be debuting her new line, the SJP Collection, with shoes, handbags and the “Manhattan” trenchcoat, exclusively at Nordstrom.  For Seattle, Wednesday, March 5th is the day to take off of work, grab your girlfriends, and head to the Nordstrom flagship store in downtown Seattle for a personal visit by Sarah Jessica herself!

Crafted in Italy, the shoe line, retailing from $195 to $500, reflects her childhood.  Each shoe has a story behind it, such as the “Carrie” pump (an ode to Carrie Bradshaw) and the “Maud” sandal (named after the legendary designer, Maud Frizon).  Each shoe is rich in bold, beautiful colors such as teal, purple and mint and with a variety of heel heights for all women.   Ranging from $245 to $375, the SJP handbag collection is made to be functional for the everyday woman on the go.  With a variety of styles such as the hobo shoulder bag, “New Yorker,” the cross body “Waverly” and the “Beekman” clutch, the handbags and not only fashionable, but practical.  Rounding out the collection is the SJP “Manhattan” trench coat for $495.  Created to highlight the shoes and the handbag collection, the coat forms an A-Line fitted silhouette and skirting design that helps to accentuate a woman’s beautiful figure.

Sarah Jessica isn’t just a fashion icon, she is also actively involved in many charities.  She has worked with amfAR, the Foundation for AIDS Research, helping raise millions of dollars to find a cure for AIDS. She presented the Piaget Award of Inspiration to Kevin Huvane at the amfAR Inspiration Gala in Los Angeles in October 2012 where she spoke of his unwavering commitment to the people he loves and the causes that he’s passionate about, saying “his unflinching, selfless mindset is a quality we all long for in our leaders. It’s what helps bring people closer together.”

She has also worked with other charities, such as being featured on a public service announcement for Stand Up To Cancer to help change the odds and stand up in the fight against cancer, teamed up with Got Your 6, aimed at improving the public’s image of veterans while helping them reintegrate into society, among many other causes close to her heart.
