There’s no doubt that Denver is a city that loves to entertain, educate and thrive. No matter your interest, you’ll find a concert, a lecture, a play or eatery that will tickle your fancy.

Denver Center for the Performing Arts, a non-profit organization, is a big provider in entertainment for Denver. For over fifty years, they’ve put on and hosted hundreds of world-renown musicals, world premiere plays and sold-out shows.

However, in addition to the shows, Denver Center also hosts phenomenal education programs for toddlers to adults, which includes audience events, family activities, acting classes, professional development and even playwright competitions for high school students. These programs have proven to educate Denver in so many ways where most of them are free, low cost and budget-friendly.

On March 1st, support Denver Center and everything it has provided Denver at the annual Saturday Night Alive Gala benefitting Denver Center’s Art Education Programs hosted at the Seawell Grand Ballroom.

The World Traveler – 2 business class airfares to Tokyo, Rome, Paris, London….anywhere United Airlines flies! As Denver Center’s signature fundraiser, Patrons can bid on silent auctions and purchase a Surprise Box for $100, $200 or $300 where you can’t see the contents beforehand but each box is guaranteed a surprise.More than 30 vacation trips courtesy of Starwood Hotels & Resorts. In addition, the Salah Foundation will match selected items in the silent auction.  Some highlighted items include:

  • New York VIP Theatre Tour – United airfare to NYC, 3 nights at the W New York Times Square & a VIP tour including theatre tickets, Union Square and Gramercy park

Take note of a vintage fur boutique and original art courtesy of Abend Gallery and Brushstrokes Studio Gallery at the auction – the retail value in the auction will exceed $350,000.

Finally, Leo and Susan Kiely will match dollar for dollar anything above the projected event net proceeds of $700,000 up to $100,000.  In Leo Kiely’s words:

“Susan and I would like to raise the bar and issue a challenge—we will match every dollar above the $700,000 net goal up to $100,000. We hope to raise over $1 million in gross revenue for the event and get closer to our goal of all Colorado children experiencing the magic of theatre –in the classroom and at their DCPA.”

After the silent auction, dinner, dessert and dancing will ensue and of course, an intimate performance by  Matthew Morrison!

An Emmy, Tony and Golden Globe-nominated star, Morrison came to national prominence through his role as the perpetually optimistic high school teacher Will Schuester on Fox TV’s Glee but the Southern California native has been turning heads years earlier in Hairspray, Light in the Piazza, South Pacific and more so everyone is bound to be wowed!
