A classic American designer that can easily be taken for granted due to her flawless execution time and time again, Nicole Miller once again debuts a collection that rivals only previous collections of her own making – clothing done just right. Friday’s runway show was no exception. “Designing the Fall 2014 collection, I was inspired by female warriors — fierce, strong, and confident women, said Miller in WWD. I referenced iconic images from history and films for detail and fabric inspiration”
Deep plum fur vest, black embroidered leather, cigarette pants, peacock feather adorned pieces, beaded embroidered detail – all concepts familiar in thought, but imaginative in presentation. Some say she plays it safe while others applaud her vision. The collection shown to be dark and delicious, decadent all around – The recipe for a sweet Fall wardrobe.
How She’s Making A Difference:
While dressing women across the globe, Nicole Miller makes plenty of time to lend a helping hand. Most recently, she teamed up with the CFDA and Bloomingdales, creating couture helmets for The NFL Foundation. She worked with Lair Hamilton, designing a paddle board to raise money for The Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
She’s partnered with non-profit organization, Indego Africa, helping 250 artisans in Rwanda provide for their families. She recently attended The DreamBall to benefit Look Good Feel Better and The American Cancer Society. Not only does she design modern go-to prints, she also takes pride in mentoring and philanthropy. A fashion statement that never goes out of style – giving back.
