Center For Architecture In Dallas Hosts 3rd Annual Form Follows Fitness 5K

On Saturday, February 22 at Klyde Warren Park in Dallas Texas, Dallas Center For Architecture will host their 3rd Annual “Form Follows Fitness 5K.  So whether you want to run or walk, come join in the fun as participants will have views of some of the most inspiring architecture and public art Dallas has to offer. Last year this annual fundraiser brought in more than 1,000 participants and raised over $25,000 for Dallas Center for Architecture’s public programs which include things such as scholarship programs, new exhibit tours and other events.

The 5K will begin at Klyde Warren Park  at 9:00 AM. for those who prefer a shorter distance, there will be a 1K to begin at 9:30 AM.  You can register as an individual or as a team here. Those who register with a team of 10 participants or more, will be able to participate in obtaining team awards. The awards will be for the following categories: the largest team, the fastest team, the top fundraising team and last but not least, the best dressed team. The awards will be handed out at the end of the 5K at 10:00 AM.

This fun run will include views of structures made by internationally known architects that have been given the most prestigious awards for their decades worth of work. Architects to include: Thom Mayne, Perot Museum of Nature and Science; Sir Norman Foster, Margot and Bill Winspear Opera House; Renzo Piano, Nasher Sculpture Garden, I.M. Pei, Fountain Place and Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Hall to name a few.

There will be additional activities in Klyde Warren Park aside from the start and finish of the race. These will include a live band, sponsor displays, food trucks, and other various entertainment for fans and participants to enjoy.

Founded in 2008, DCFA has hosted over 3,000 events to get over 30,000 participants active in the growing conversation about architecture, and how it is a vital part of the economic development to Dallas TX.
