Rebecca Richards is an estate planning and taxation attorney from New York. This “recovering attorney” is enjoying all that Miami has to offer – whether it be attending one of the many Miami festivals, touring historic Villa Vizcaya, or sunning on South Beach. Previously, Becky published scholarly articles on estate planning and taxation, and is now is exploring her creativity to write feature articles on a wide variety of topics. While living on Long Island, she was involved in several community service projects and hopes to continue this work in Miami by spreading the word to others through writing. Becky also enjoys music, all things outdoors, meeting new people, and reading. She received her bachelor’s degree in journalism from Western Connecticut State University and her law degree from Hofstra University School of Law. PNC Bank Non-Profit Academy Awards 2014 In Miami

4th Annual PNC On Friday, February 28, 2-1-1 Broward will present the Fourth Annual PNC Bank Non-Profit Academy Awards at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. The awards ceremony and luncheon will honor the works of Broward County’s non-profit agencies and the individual efforts of their executives and board leaders.

2-1-1 Broward announced the finalists at the Non-Profit Academy Awards at an exclusive VIP Announcement Party on January 16.  Each nominated non-profit organization is encouraged to attend the luncheon and be recognized for their service to the community.  Awards will be given in ten categories.  The winner of each category will receive a golden statue and $1,000 for the respective non-profit organization. The other two finalists will be awarded $500 each.  All other nominees will be eligible for the Publix Community Choice award, a $1,000 grant awarded to a nominee organization based on the community’s online votes.  Votes can be placed here.

The event begins with the Memorial Healthcare Service Red Carpet & Wizard Creations Finalists Celebration at 11 a.m., followed by the awards ceremony and luncheon at noon.  The event will conclude with an “After Party” at 2 p.m. sponsored and hosted by SIROCCO Mediterranean Restaurant & Lounge.

2-1-1 Broward is a community-based organization that provides families and individuals with a 24-hour comprehensive helpline. Families and individuals may speak with a trained, degreed counselor who connects the caller with access to agencies and programs.
