Days before Valentine’s Day. sweeties will be gathering to cozy up for a romantic evening to treat their taste buds to the savory and sweet flavor combinations of Pike Chocofest, which began in 2009 as a way to uncover the unique relationship between chocolate and beer. Guests can also enjoy pairing their chocolate with wine, cider, mead, spirits, cheese and desserts from top Seattle restaurants. All the proceeds raised will benefit Puget Soundkeeper Alliance, an organization committed to keeping Puget Sound clean.
Join The Pike Brewing Company’s Sixth Annual Pike Chocofest from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday, February 9. The event will be spread across three levels, including The Pike Pub, The Pike Brewery, Pike’s Museum Room, Pike Building Atrium and The Pike Place Market Atrium. Pike Chocofest has expanded with 80 vendors, and The Pike Brewing Company is hoping to host 600 guests this year.
Last year, more than 500 people attended Pike Chocofest to experience different foods and beverages and swap stories with vendors — totaling at least 70 — that included chocolatiers, winemakers, brewers, restaurateurs, bakers and cheese makers. On the beverage side, vendors also included local wineries, distilleries, cider makers, brewers and importers.
Puget Soundkeeper Alliance was the first grassroots citizens’ organization to focus on protecting Puget Sound’s marine environment. The environmental group monitors, preserves and cleans up toxic pollution in the sound.Water Keeper Alliance is currently the fastest-growing environmental movement in the world with more than 200 Waterkeepers spread across six continents. One-hundred percent of the organizations work is supported through donations and grants.
