Elizabeth Kane is the President and Founder of CharityChicks US, the philanthropic connector for young professionals comprised of young socials, entrepreneurs, and future business leaders in Washington, DC, and New York City. She was named one of DC’s Most Dynamic Women by DC Magazine, and her organization has been featured in Capitol File, The Georgetowner, The Washington Post, NBC, and multiple philanthropy blogs. Elizabeth is one of DC’s most notable young philanthropists, and devotes her time to working non-profit leadership to engage the future generation of donors, and help connect them to corporations that will support their mission. She has established CharityChicks US as a top fundraiser for rare cancer research, most recently for Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. In addition, she serves as the Chair of the Arts, Education, and Wellness initiatives for CharityChicks US, including a variety of clean water and food access improvement projects in Washington, DC, such as charity:water. Elizabeth received her BBA from the George Washington University School of Business and is currently an MFA Candidate at The George Washington University.

National Cherry Blossom Festival®’s Sing Into Spring Competition

On January 27, 2014, The National Cherry Blossom Festival® will host it’s first live auditions for their Sing Into Spring Competitionwhich highlight local talent presented by Events DC in three categories: “Youth”, “A Cappella” and “Pop, Soul, and R&B.”  Congratulations to the finalists below, and watch their entries here!

The event is hosted by American Idol alumni Justin Guarini. Up to four singers will be chosen that evening by a panel including celebrity judges Joe Coleman, former lead vocalist of The Platters, Louise Robinson of Sweet Honey and the Rock, and Darik Kristofer of 94.7 Fresh FM.

The National Cherry Blossom Festival is Washington D.C.’s greatest annual springtime celebration featuring diverse and creative programming promoting traditional and contemporary arts and culture, natural beauty, and community spirit.
